The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is one of the most hotly anticipated phones of 2014. It's the first Samsung phone to have a metal frame and it's also set to cram as much of the Galaxy S5's high-end specs as possible into a smaller, thinner chassis. However, it could also be the first device in a new line of A series phones from Samsung according to the latest industry rumours.
According to SamMobile , there are three more A series devices in the works, going by the model numbers SM-A300, SM-A500 and SM-A700. The SM-A300's display will have a 960x540 resolution display while the other two will have 1,280x720 resolution displays. There's been no official word on price yet, but SamMobile reports all three will cover a range of price points.
Each phone's design will allegedly be very similar to the Galaxy Alpha, implying there will be some kind of metal construction in its chassis. All three phones will have improved front-facing cameras as well, although it's still unknown how many megapixels will be present in each sensor.
The phones will apparently launch in Q3 of this year as well, suggesting that they could be unveiled at IFA next week. We suspect the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be attracting most of the attention at IFA, but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any official announcements.
