In computer systems or communications, a configuration of the system basically refers to the arrangement of all its internal units, based on their configuration, role and number, with respect to one another. Often times, configuration pertains to either the selection of specific hardware, software, drivers, firmware and other software components. The term 'hardware' refers to any of the hardware that is needed in the computer system and comprises a variety of devices such as a keyboard, display, CPU and so on. 'Software' refers to applications or programs which are executed within the system. Computer systems also contain hardware components such as RAM, hard drives and others. There are some ways that you can access the various computer configurations. You can open the control panel (we will talk about this in a later blog post), by clicking on the 'Local Administration' icon. Alternatively, you can right click on the machine (or the desktop if you are in the Windows Vista or Windows XP setup) and choose'manage settings'. Alternatively, you can click on the 'Machine Configuration' button from the start menu.
Computer configuration tools allow users to set the various options for the machine, by using keyboard shortcuts and hot keys. For example, to change the country setting for the currency sign, you would right click on the currency sign and select the option 'Cash' or click on the left button 'Coincide with country.' Computer settings are stored in the registry under the name of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Machine. By right clicking on the name, you will get more detailed information about the configuration.
Another method of configuring the windows machine is through the control panel. The available options are found in the section marked 'Control Panel.' If you want to change the current user name and password of the machine, you can click on the appropriate option. This will add a new user name and password to your control panel. If you want to change the boot up choices for the computer, you can click on the appropriate option from the boot menu. These are just some basic steps that you can do to change the window's 10 computer configuration.
By using the windows Registry editor, you can view the various groups of software and hardware which are installed in your machine. Using the appropriate key, you can switch between the operating systems and profiles. You can even create new groups of software and hardware and link them with the user configuration profile, which you can view in the Control Panel window.
To view the window's configuration, open the Start Menu and click on the 'Run' button. At the 'Run' window, type the following command: regedit into the field provided and press enter. You will be given a list of all the key that is present in your computer configuration. Click on any key and read its information to find out what it does. You will then be shown the command or task you should perform with it.
The first task is to locate the Security settings folder contains software and service files. The file can be found at C:/Windows and this can be accessed with Explorer. Open the folder and you will find the Windows registry key that indicates the product you have just installed. Double click on the product key to open it. The registry key shows all the information about the product and its installation and un-installation as well as the security settings of the computer.
The second task is to create a new group of product keys which you can use to customize the security settings of your computer. Right click on the group object editor and choose the 'New' option from the menu. Use the following text box for entering the name of the new group, its scope, description, type, and length and save it. To finish all the security settings of the computer configuration, right click on the group and choose the 'End' button to permanently close the window.
