Last year’s Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop is a device we described as a contender for gaming laptop of the year – an ambition somewhat hindered by its eye wateringly high cost of entry. Still, the unrelenting march of time plus a generous Amazon discount has made the entry-level Intel Core i7 and GTX 1660 Ti model a great value gaming laptop by any definition. It’s down to £1,199.99 – a saving of £369.99 off the price of the same spec on Razer’s own site. For that price you’re getting a setup that was pretty damned enviable in 2019: an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, 16GB RAM, a 256GB SSD and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. All of this in a build that oozes quality – especially with the 144Hz screen ensuring the specs can really let loose and hit triple-digit fps figures. The 1660 Ti may not be the fastest GPU around - in an ideal world I'd prefer a laptop with a GTX 2060 or above inside - but it's fast enough at this price and, given how slim, light and sleek the Blade is, it contributes to what is a great all-rounder. And, while there are more powerful gaming laptops available for less, this £999 MSI GF65 laptop for example, which as the superior GeForce RTX 2060, none are as stylish or compact as the Razer.
